Career Highlights: Jonathan started racing karts on pavement at 8 years of age. In eight years of racing karts, he won three IKF Duffys, 14 KART National Championships, was the #1 ranked SKUSA 80cc Jr National in 2004 and the 2004 Rotax Junior National Champion. He raced in Mayalsia in the 2005 Rotax World Championship with Team USA.
He started racing Micro Midgets in 2000, where he won the Restrictor Class at the Tulsa Shootout in 2002. He has recorded several top-5 finishes in A-Class and Multis at the Tulsa Shootout.
Jonathan started driving pavement Super Late Models and ASA Late Models in 2006. In his rookie year, he finished fourth in the USRA Series and competed at Texas Motor Speedway. He went on to win the 2007 New Symrna Speedweeks ASA division.
Moving up from the Micro ranks in 2007, Jonathan’s first full season of Midget action netted six top-five finishes in a dozen starts, including an Southern States Midget Assoc. (SSMA) win at Gulf Coast Speedway in Alvin, Texas, on Oct. 6. He ranked fourth in the final Southern Midget Racing Series (SMRS) points. He competed in the 2007 and 2008 Chili Bowl Midget Nationals and made it to the A-Feature on Thursday night both years. In 2008 he ran fifth in the C-Feature — one spot away from getting to the B-Feature.
Jonathan’s 2008 schedule calls for competing with the SMRS Midgets and running select USAC and POWRi races, along with several Micro Midget races. |
